The Sedes Sapientiae Symposium was founded in 2023 at the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Fides et Ratio, heeding the call to philosophers in its final paragraph (§108) to take the Sedes Sapientiae as the model of philosophy. The motto of the Symposium is philosophari debemus in Maria, taken from the 12th century Benedictine monk Odon of Canterbury. The aim is to organise a yearly symposium on a topic related to Mary and philosophy.
