The Symposium will take place in Leuven, just 15 minutes away by train from Brussels International Airport (BRU), in the historical Leo XIII seminary, Tiensestraat 112, 3000 Leuven. The seminary was built by Désiré (later Cardinal) Mercier in a response to Leo XIII’s encyclical Aeterni Patris (1879), exclusively devoted to the role and importance of philosophy.

Whereas that encyclical promoted Thomism as the preferred philosophical and theological tradition, Fides et Ratio took a broader approach while explicitly referring to its predecessor.

The entrance for the Symposium will be via the Andreas Vesaliusstraat, just around the corner, as shown on the pictures below.
